For the HSL-South project, Strukton Rail has developed and supplied a turnkey system for permanently monitoring 25 kV/50Hz interference currents at 12 locations.

Measurements
The introduction of 25 kV/50Hz power supply on the HSL-South and Betuwe route brings with it all kinds of uncertainties. The influence on the existing 1500 V network was difficult to calculate. Using the Strukton Rail system, interference currents are permanently measured at 12 locations.

Monitoring
The system consists of a measuring unit developed by AEAT that passes on measurement data to a central location, via the POSS online monitoring system developed by Strukton Rail, whenever the alarm value is exceeded. In this way, automatic monitoring is guaranteed to ensure that the interference currents remain within acceptable limits.
