o functional maintenance
o functional repair
o breakdown repair
o functional inspections
o maintenance management
o operational ownership management
o fire hoses and fire cocks
o coordination

Breakdown organisation
Strukton Rail operates its own smoothly-operating breakdown organisation. Breakdown coordination at Strukton Rail is provided by breakdown coordinators from 4 regional offices, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Procedure
The breakdown coordinator works from the office where he or she receives the breakdown message. The nature of the breakdown is determined, and service engineers with the necessary specialist skills are sent to the affected location. In addition, the breakdown coordinator is responsible for feeding back forecast times and repair messages to the reporting officer. He/she is also responsible for administration in an information management system.
