Strukton Rail has developed a dynamic passenger information system on all stops, hubs and termini of the entire RET Rotterdam metro and fast tram networks. For this project, 150 multi-line platform displays and 100 single displays were installed on platforms and at stops. Through phased implementation, nuisance to passengers was kept to a minimum.
Information
At each tram stop, the current waiting time for the underground train is shown on the stop and platform display. Changes in journey times, for example due to delays, are registered and compared with the timetables. The new, actual departure times are calculated and the forecast departure times are passed on to all remaining stopping points, and shown on the display(s).
