Strukton Rail completely renewed the track and accompanying crossings between Meppel and Groningen, in a total period of 53 hours, during which the track was taken out of service. During this period, four sets of points were replaced and three crossings converted into so-called Harmelen crossings. A rail bridge was converted into a silent bridge.
