The Strukton-Hollandia Joint Venture has been contracted by Offshore-Windpark Riffgat GmbH & Co. KG for the turnkey delivery of the offshore high voltage substation for the Riffgat wind farm which is built north-eastern of the Dutch island of Schiermonnikoog within the German twelve-nautical-miles zone at the North Sea.
The turnkey project involves the engineering, fabrication and offshore installation of a 33/155 kV Offshore High Voltage Substation to connect 30 pieces 3.6MW wind turbines with the German grid. With a total installed capacity of 108 megawatts (MW) the wind farm will supply approximately 100.000 German households with ecofriendly electricity.
The engineering activities will start from today and the topside should be ready for onshore testing by the end of June 2012 followed by offshore installation and testing in August 2012. The wind farm should supply energy to the German grid by mid of 2013.
