Since mid September 2006, Strukton's preventive maintenance and breakdown diagnosis system (POSS) has been monitoring all points belonging to rail operator Circumvesuviana. Circumvesuviana operates suburban services around Naples, Italy on a rail network with some 90 stations.

A POSS pilot started in December 2004 at the main station in Naples. There was a substantial reduction in points breakdowns during the pilot, and maintenance operations were more effective. These results led to a project to install POSS on all 90 sets of points in the Circumvesuviana rail network. Several train detection sections and a crossing are also to be monitored by POSS.
