SRS Sjölanders and the railway contractor Strukton Rail AB have signed a contract for the supply of 3 multiflexible rail-road vehicles in 2011.The contract sum is approximately 24 million SEK (ca. 2.7 million euro). The order consists of two overhead line rail-road vehicles and one multi-purpose rail-road vehicle. The multi-purpose rail-road vehicle is also fitted with snow removal units. A major advantage of the vehicles is their flexibility, which will be very useful in Strukton Rail’s maintenance and construction work.
Peter Sundström, CEO of SRS Sjölanders, sees the order as a further development of the close cooperation with Strukton Rail. “It is particularly gratifying that the vehicles have been ordered for use in Sweden, since the Swedish company SRS Sjölanders has mainly exported its vehicles in recent years. We are looking forward to continue providing support in Strukton Rail’s continued expansion.”
Robert Röder, CEO of Strukton Rail AB, is welcoming the supplement to the company’s machinery in Sweden. “We are very glad to be able to make this investment. These vehicles are highly suitable for our maintenance and construction work and will improve our conditions to maintain the railway standards, especially in the winter. This is of great importance to Strukton and to our customers, and will have a positive effect on the rail-bound traffic in winter time. The new vehicles will be delivered and put into operation in November and December 2011.
