The Swedish companies of Strukton Rail and Balfour Beatty Rail will strengthen their cooperation in order to gain cost effectiveness. The two companies will exchange personnel and machinery in order to efficiently meet customer needs. Both Strukton Rail and Balfour Beatty Rail have maintenance contracts and new construction contracts in many different places in Sweden. They have a recurring need to quickly and cost effectively complement their own resources with external assistance. This is the case, for example, when a new construction project starts before the company has had time to establish a project team in place, or when production peaks.

Balfour Beatty Rail's Managing Director Magnus Jonasson: "We see great potential in such cooperation. We will particularly be able to use each other's resources when they are available at close range. The cost of moving machines up and down in Sweden is very high. The cooperation enables us to use our resources much more efficiently and thus reduce the carbon footprint. Likewise, we will be able to hire each other’s human resources. This is a typical win-win situation. We see potential in new commitments in the western region of Sweden, where we have the start of operation & maintenance work in September".

Strukton Rail's CEO Robert Röder: "We have a strongly growing market, but unfortunately a great lack of resources of both machinery and personnel across Europe – all good forces must be interoperable. Our employees will benefit from this, since they may be able to get work more closely to their homes. I am sure that this will be appreciated”, concludes Robert Röder.
