Strukton Rail AS, the Norwegian company of Strukton Railinfra, and the railway company of the Norwegian Betonmast AS are merging their activities. Both companies have been successfully working together for some time now and will continue their business as Strukton Rail AS. The merge strengthens Strukton’s position in the Scandinavian market.

The railway company of Betonmast AS consisted of Betonmast Bane AS and TEAS - Trafikk-Elektro AS. In Norway, the company is leading in the fields of construction and maintenance of track facilities, electric power and signalling and telecommunications in the light transport system and rail sector. Strukton will gain from the expertise and good reputation of Betonmast Bane and TEAS. The company will continue to focus on quality, safety and skills development.

The merge is in line with Strukton Railinfra’s ambition to acquire a top position in the Nordic countries. Strukton has been active in Sweden since 2003. The company has since undergone considerable growth and currently maintains ca 2,000 kilometres of track in Sweden. Strukton put its first step in Norway with the acquisition of Jernbaneservice in 2006. The Strukton companies in Sweden and Norway have since been working closely together and offer flexible and efficient solutions for Swedish and Norwegian infrastructure managers. Recently, Strukton also won a contract in Denmark.

With the acquisition, the number of Strukton Rail staff in Norway increases to 150. The revenues are expected to amount to over EUR 30 million in 2008. The company has offices in Trondheim, Otta and Hamar as well as the head office in Lillestrøm outside Oslo.
