Strukton Rail won an Innovation Award on 3 March 2010 for a unique rail infrastructure measurement method. This innovation award from the Belgian Building Confederation is issued to award the company with the most innovative product in the construction sector in the past year. Project leader Jo Derie of Strukton Rail’s Belgian branch won the prize with software that he developed for the analysis and management of measuring data.

The system can best be described as a software tool box, a flexible instrument that can continuously be adjusted to user demands. The software already proved its worth on the HSL between Antwerp and the Netherlands. Strukton Rail uses the software in Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark, and the Swedish colleagues are also enthusiastic.

Jo Derie received the prize because the project is pioneering in this field and involves a high contribution to the ingenuity in the construction industry, both in Belgium and abroad.
