From May to the end of 2009, Strukton Rail will be working on the electrification of the railways in the area of the Maasvlakte-West and Botlekbrug – part of the harbour and industrial area of the city of Rotterdam. The existing electric cable route will be diverted and new electrical cables will be laid for the electrification of the railways. The activities involve around 14 tracks with a total length of over 25 kilometres.

The project is planned to be carried out mainly during daytime and partly during the night and in the weekends.
