On 30 March 2010, Strukton Rail won the contract for the construction of the superstructure of the extended Oosterheem Line. The current Oosterheem Line is part of the RandstadRail light rail network, connecting the cities of The Hague, Zoetermeer and Rotterdam. The Oosterheem Line, connecting the Hague and Zoetermeer, is to be extended to create a good connection at the ‘Bleizo’ junction. Bleizo is a planned railway station that should improve the accessibility of the Randstad region.
Strukton Rail will construct the track and catenary systems in phases, including the construction of holding sidings with mechanical systems (water, fire fighting, electrical and lighting systems).
