Strukton Rolling Stock delivers electrical components for the traction and control of railway vehicles, including locomotives and trainsets. These components are fitted in a welded metal housing, which is partly mounted on the outside of the rolling stock.

Laws and regulation for welding of railway vehicles and components are getting increasingly strict on behalf of safety. Certification for the EN 15085 standard is therefore rapidly becoming a pre-requisite for contract award or acceptance as an approved supplier of components, sub-assemblies and vehicles. The EN 15085 standard proves the welding quality of railway vehicles and components. Certification is for example a pre-requisite for Strukton Rolling Stock’s current Siemens Neoval project in France.

SLV Duisburg (Germany) carried out the certification audit on 24 April, resulting in Strukton Rolling Stock being added to the list of certified companies on Strukton Rolling Stock is one of few parties in the Netherlands having obtained the certificate.
