ATB

ATB programme

The ATB programme aimed at the realisation of 11 ATB (Automatic Train Stopping) protection projects. ATB is the traditional train protection system used on the Dutch railways. The work can be classified in the following items from a technological point of view:

  • 80% electronic
  • 10% mechanical
  • 10% controls and monitoring

The programme involved six projects for realising ATB New Generation and Detection (NG/D) and five projects for realising ATB First Generation (FG). The work was covered by quality guarantee; the engineering agencies assumed the task of auditors.
