Project details

The power electronic equipment consists to a large extent of Strukton’s ultra-lightweight power modules which are applied in several other lightrail projects, most notably in the new monorail vehicles of Kuala Lumpur, metro Toulouse and metro Amsterdam. Scomi Rail has experienced the benefit of Strukton’s equipment and has this time also included the auxiliary power supply equipment in the order. Delivery for the first set of 14 trains commences in 2015.

“We are obviously very pleased to continue our good relationship with Scomi Rail as leading consortium partner, and we are delighted with this step in the important Brazilian market. Our success in the highly competitive monorail market lies in our engineering heart and philosophy. Innovative design has given us an advantage in terms of weight, costs and reliability. It is an ongoing effort to remain ahead and create valuable systems for our customers. This will be a great project and we look forward to increase our activities in Brazil and the monorail market in general.”
