POSS at the Metro of Naples

The first POSS system at the station of Naples was installed in 2004. A network-wide roll-out of POSS for 90 critical points was commissioned in 2006. A further extension with 3 stations (Piano, Pollena and Saviano) followed in 2012. Circumvesuviana is the regional narrow track (950 mm) network around Naples. It has 96 stations. The maximum speed is 90 kmh. The network is called Circumvesuviana because part of the network forms a ring around Mount Vesuvius.
