Project details

Strukton Rolling Stock supplies traction inverters for 12 new Kuala Lumpur monorail vehicles on behalf of monorail manufacturer Scomi Rail. The existing KL Monorail line connects major sights in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Its growing success leads to the need for new and modern vehicles with additional capacity.

Strukton Rolling Stock delivers 72 traction inverters. These state-of-the art lightweight power inverters provide powerful and energy saving motor performance.

The low weight of the inverters was a decisive factor for Scomi Rail to select the Strukton inverters. With a system weight of only 93 kg, the inverters deliver a continuous power of 150kW, with a peak power of 220kW. Delivery started in 2012.
